Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search box is sent to the outside service that provides search results. Galveston Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those searches on its own servers. If a visitor contacts us, we receive the information included in that message and use it to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting systems may log ordinary technical information, including IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We review aggregated information to operate and improve the service. Cookies or similar technologies can support basic measurement and advertising where used.
How Technical Data Is Used
We use this limited information to run the service, investigate faults, understand page use, and improve the reference. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Links and Search Providers
Links lead to government portals, library collections, archives, and outside search services. Their terms and privacy practices govern any information submitted on their sites, including information submitted through sponsored results.
Service Providers and Disclosures
Hosting and support providers may process server logs on our behalf. Analytics and advertising providers can receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information when required by valid legal process and otherwise only as described in this policy.
Security Practices
The service uses an encrypted connection. Logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. There are no user accounts, passwords, or member profiles maintained by Galveston Residents Directory.
Visitors Under 18
This reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If a minor has sent us personal information, contact us so it can be removed.
Texas Privacy Rights
Texas residents may have rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain processing by covered private controllers under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Business and Commerce Code Chapter 541. Those rights are subject to the law's scope and public-record exceptions. For information held by this site, contact the Contact page. Requests to remove a government record must go to its actual Texas, county, or city custodian.
Policy Updates
Changes will be published on this policy page. Continued use after publication means the revised policy applies from that point forward.
